Raousse – Constant Memories (Press Release)
Recently, hardcore music has been growing rapidly, especially in Surabaya. Raousse has provided a breath of fresh air since the release of Maxi-Single in 2022. Combining Post Hardcore and Emo music is one of the characteristics of Raousse itself. In 2024, Raousse released his debut EP entitled Constant Memories on January 10 2024. The six tracks on the EP combine Modern Hardcore with Post Hardcore. Raousse started with the single "Let Go" in the prelude to this EP which was released last November. With references such as Have Heart, Koyo, Anxious, and Texas is The Reason, Raousse remains focused on pushing the boundaries of the hardcore sphere itself.
This debut EP from Raousse has a unique story, starting from the writings and complaints of Begs, Imung, and Gemilang, there are 6 songs that are combined into one coherently. On track 1-2-3, Raousse brings back the Modern Hardcore atmosphere of the 2000s, for example Bane, Have Heart, Verse and Sinking Ships. These three songs tell the story of how someone still cannot forget the memories that have passed. The story of this song can be heard on the track "Dots on a Map, Grey, and Page of Farewell". The outpouring of emotion from these three songs is conveyed explicitly, directly and quickly.
The second part of Raousse's EP, song 4-5-6 is a phase of acceptance of someone who has been lost. Starting with "Let Go", Begs' story explains how he lost someone he loved. Then the connection track between "Leaving Time and Autumn Remains", describes when someone has let go and let go of someone we love. The feel of these three songs is more towards Melodic Hardcore in the style of Lifetime, Anxious, and Farside. Therefore, this EP entitled Constant Memories tells the story that memory cannot be separated from the individual himself. The memory will stick even though it will leave an impression whether it has a positive or negative connotation.
The EP was recorded via SelfRecs, Trek House, and Natural Music Studio. Then in the mixing and mastering department, it was done by Ayok (Screaming Factor) at Griffin Recording Studio, Malang. This EP was released by Outta Sight Records (Ndaru) which is very active in releasing Hardcore to Alternative bands. Raousse's debut EP is a breakthrough in their long and eagerly awaited journey. Raousse vivid emo/hardcore mix can be expected January 10, 2024.
